This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Megastore76 apps: Live Radio, Live TV Bible Verse Live Wallpaper, World Transport Guide and World Pharmacy, the Android app versions and the same tools in your web browser at megastore76.com/tools. It is separate from the general privacy policy for the Megastore76 website, which covers comments, accounts and shop orders.
The short version
- There is no account, no sign-up and no login.
- We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, camera or microphone. Your location is used only if you tap a “near me” button (World Transport Guide and World Pharmacy), as explained below.
- The apps contain no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.
- Your favourites and settings stay on your own device.
- Some third parties (listed below) necessarily see your IP address when you play a station or channel, as they would on any website.
Who we are
The apps are published by Megastore76, operated by Mega Philip Mega in the United Kingdom. For privacy questions or requests, use our contact page.
What stays on your device
When you tap the heart on a station or channel, or change a setting such as volume, the app saves that choice in your device’s own browser storage. We never receive it. It is removed if you clear the site data for megastore76.com, or uninstall the app.
Information that is sent when you use the apps
Like every website and app that uses the internet, the apps cause your device to contact servers. Those servers can see your IP address and basic technical details such as your browser or device type. This is what happens, and who sees it:
- Megastore76 (our website host). The apps are loaded from megastore76.com. Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) for security and to keep the service running, under its own retention rules. We do not use these logs to identify you.
- Radio Browser (radio-browser.info). Live Radio gets its station list from this free community directory. Your request, including your IP address, goes to its servers. When you start a station, the app may tell the directory that the station was played, which is how it ranks popular stations. See radio-browser.info for its own policy.
- The radio station. When you press play, the audio streams directly from the station’s own server, so that station can see your IP address, as it would if you listened on its website. We do not host, record or control station streams.
- YouTube (Google), for Live TV. Live TV shows channels using YouTube’s embedded player. YouTube and Google may set cookies and process data about your viewing under Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not receive this data.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Live Radio (Android app)
The Live Radio Android app is a full app with its own audio player. It asks for no account and contains no advertising, analytics or tracking tools. What it does, and the permissions it uses:
- Internet: to fetch the station list from radio-browser.info and to stream the station you choose directly from its broadcaster (they can see your IP address, as described above).
- Foreground service for media playback and notifications: so the radio keeps playing when your screen is off, and so you can pause or stop it from the lock screen or notification shade.
- Wake lock: to keep the audio connection running while the screen is off.
Favourites and settings stay on your phone. Premium (optional, bought once through Google Play) adds a 10-band equaliser and a recorder. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play, so we never see your card or payment details; we only learn from Google Play whether Premium has been bought. The equaliser settings are saved on your phone.
Recordings (Premium) are saved on your phone, in the Music folder under “Live Radio Recordings”. They are never uploaded anywhere by us. You can play, share or delete them from inside the app. Please record only for your own listening and respect broadcasters’ rights. When you tap Record, the app opens a second connection to the same station to save its audio.
The Live TV Android app
The Live TV Android app opens the Megastore76 tool in a full-screen view powered by your browser (a “Trusted Web Activity”). It requests no Android permissions of its own: no location, contacts, microphone, camera, photos or files. It does not use an advertising ID. Google Play may collect its own information about installs and crashes, as described in Google’s Privacy Policy.
Bible Verse Live Wallpaper (Android)
Bible Verse Live Wallpaper is a separate app that works entirely on your device. The 845 verses, in nine languages, are stored inside the app. The app has no internet permission, so it works offline and it does not send anything to us or to anyone else. It contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking tools, and it does not use an advertising ID.
What it stores on your device: the verses you save as favourites, your reading streak, and your settings (language, topic, scene, how often verses change, reminder time). The app uses your phone’s language when it is one of the nine available (otherwise English), and you can change it in the menu; that choice is stored only on your phone. It is removed when you uninstall the app.
The permissions it asks for, and why:
- Notifications (only if you turn on the daily reminder): to show one verse at the time you choose.
- Set wallpaper: so the live wallpaper, or a still picture of a verse that you choose to save, can be used as your wallpaper.
- Run at start-up: so a daily reminder you switched on keeps working after you restart your phone. (Android itself restores a live wallpaper after a restart.)
If you tap Share on a verse, the app creates a picture of the verse and hands it to the app you choose (for example WhatsApp). What happens next is governed by that app. The picture is saved in your phone’s Pictures folder under “Daily Verse”. The “Visit megastore76.com” and “Privacy policy” buttons open your web browser. Scripture comes from these translations: English, World English Bible; Spanish, Reina-Valera 1909; French, Bible de David Martin 1744; German, Elberfelder Bibel 1905; Russian, Synodal Translation; Traditional Chinese, Chinese Union Version (εεζ¬); Vietnamese, Kinh ThΓ‘nh TiαΊΏng Viα»t 1934; Filipino, Ang Biblia 1905. All of these are in the public domain. Portuguese is BΓblia Livre, licensed CC BY 3.0 (biblialivre.org). Where a translation numbers a verse differently from the English text, that verse is left out of that language rather than shown wrongly.
World Transport Guide (website tool)
The World Transport Guide at megastore76.com/tools/world-transport/ needs no account. What happens:
- Your location is used only if you tap “Use my location”. Your browser works out your position and the nearest main airport on your own device. Your position is not sent to us or to anyone else.
- Countries you follow are saved in your browser’s own storage on your device. We never receive them.
- Travel advice is loaded directly from the UK government’s gov.uk website, so gov.uk can see your IP address when a country page loads, as with any website.
- Ticket buttons (for example Skyscanner, Rome2Rio, Omio and 12Go) open the partner’s own website in a new tab. What you type into the finder is used to build that link in your browser; it is not sent to us. The partner’s own privacy policy applies once you are on their site.
World Pharmacy (Android app and website tool)
World Pharmacy at megastore76.com/tools/world-pharmacy/ and its Android app need no account. It shows nearby pharmacies from OpenStreetMap. What happens:
- Your location is used only if you tap “Near me”. Your device works out your position. To find pharmacies, your coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap’s public Overpass servers (and, if you type a town name instead, that text goes to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim search service). Those services can see your IP address and the coordinates or place name you searched for. They are not sent to Megastore76, and we do not store them. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation’s privacy policy for how they handle requests.
- Directions opens Google Maps (or your maps app) in a new window with the pharmacy’s position as the destination. Google’s privacy policy then applies. The same applies to the Website and Call buttons, which open that pharmacy’s own website or your phone’s dialler.
- Nothing is saved. We do not keep a history of your searches or results.
- The Android app asks for no Android permissions of its own. Location is requested by Chrome, which runs the app, and you can allow or refuse it.
- World Pharmacy only helps you find a shop. It is not medical advice. Pharmacy details and opening hours come from volunteers and may be out of date: phone ahead if it matters. In an emergency call your local emergency number.
Children
These apps are for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If we ever publish an app made for children, it will have its own privacy section.
Your rights
Because we do not collect personal information through the apps, there is normally nothing for us to export or delete. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us and we will look into it. Under UK data protection law you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
If the apps change in a way that affects your privacy, for example by adding a feature that uses a new service, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live.
