Undivided: a year of daily devotions for couples, with the whole Bible built in

Undivided is a devotional app for couples, built from the book Undivided by Pastor Mega Philip Mega. It gives you one short reading for every day of the year, written for couples trying to hold career, marriage, parenting and faith together. Each reading opens on a passage of Scripture, and the whole Bible is built in so you can keep reading. Tap any verse to see where else Scripture speaks about the same thing, search any word in a concordance, and highlight, bookmark and write notes together. You buy it once and receive an Android app, a Windows program and the web version to host on your own site.

What Undivided: Couples' Devotional App does

Many couples want to read together and keep losing the habit. Undivided makes the habit small. Each day has one short reading, built around a passage, that you can read over breakfast or before bed. The readings come from the book Undivided and speak to the pressures couples actually face: work, money, children, tiredness and the pull to split yourself in half.

The Bible sits inside the app, so the reading is a doorway rather than a dead end. Open the passage in full, follow the cross-references, search a word across the whole Bible, and keep your own highlights and notes. You own it: there is no account, no subscription and no advertising, and what you save stays on your own device.

Who it is for

  • Married and engaged couples who want a simple daily habit of reading Scripture together.
  • Pastors, counsellors and church leaders who want to give the couples they serve a devotional app on the church's own website.
  • Readers of the book Undivided who would like it as a daily app on their phone or computer.

Who it is not for

  • Anyone who needs modern copyrighted translations such as NIV, ESV, NLT or NKJV: the app uses the King James Version and the World English Bible, which are public domain.
  • People who want a social or sync-everywhere app with accounts: notes and highlights stay on one device, with no cloud sync.
  • Anyone who wants to resell or redistribute the app or its readings: the licence does not allow it.

How it works

One reading a day, with the Bible close by.

Open Today

The Today page shows the reading for today's date, with its title, the opening Scripture and two buttons: Read the passage and Full devotional.

Read it together

The full devotional gives the passage, a short teaching and, on some days, a prompt to talk about or pray over together. Press Mark as read and the app counts your progress through the year.

Go deeper in the Bible

Open in the Bible takes you to the passage. Tap any verse to highlight it in one of four colours, bookmark it, write a note, copy it, or see the cross-references.

Search any word

The concordance shows how many times a word appears and in which books, then lists every verse with the word marked.

Pick up any day you like. The Devotionals page lists every day by month, so you can start in the middle of a year or catch up on days you missed.

Features

This is what the app does today. Nothing here is a roadmap item.

A reading for every day

A devotional for each day of the year, listed by month, each with a title, a monthly theme and an opening passage. Today opens on the reading for today's date.

Mark as read, and see your year

Mark a reading as read and the sidebar shows how many you have completed this year.

The whole Bible built in

All 66 books in the King James Version and the World English Bible. Switch between them in Settings. Each version downloads once and is then stored for offline use.

Cross-references

Tap a verse and the sheet shows where else Scripture speaks about it, as tappable references that jump to the passage.

A concordance

Search a word to see its total count, a count for each book, and every verse where it appears with the word marked.

Highlight, bookmark and write notes

Four highlight colours, bookmarks and notes on any verse, all gathered on the Saved page.

Read aloud

Press the speaker to hear a chapter read with your device's voice. It carries on into the next chapter until you press it again. You choose the voice and the speed.

Made to be read

Light, dark or automatic appearance, adjustable text size and line spacing.

Your data stays yours

Highlights, notes and progress are stored on your device. Export and Import let you move them by hand, and Reset clears them.

Install and set up

The download contains three versions of the same app. Use whichever suits you. Nothing needs to be built or configured.

What you need

  • For Android: a phone or tablet, and permission to install an app from a file
  • For Windows: a Windows computer. The program is not code-signed, so Windows may show a warning that you can accept
  • For the web version: a web host, or Node.js to run it on your own computer
  • Nothing else: there is no account, database or build step

To put it on a church website

  • Upload everything in the Web-App folder to your host (you can leave out the start and serve files)
  • Serve it over https so that the install and offline features work
  • You may edit the readings for your own use

Unzip the download

It contains Desktop-App, Web-App and Android folders and a short guide.

Android

Copy the APK file to your phone, tap it and allow installation from that source, then open Undivided. It works with no internet connection.

Windows

Open the Desktop-App folder and double-click Undivided. Nothing to install.

On a website or in a browser

Upload the Web-App folder to your host. Or install Node.js and double-click the start file to run it on your own computer.

If you installed an earlier version of the Android app before, uninstall it first. Uninstalling removes any highlights and notes saved in it, so export them first if you want to keep them.

What you receive after buying

You receive one zip download from Selar, straight after payment.

In the download

  • An Android app (APK file) that works with no internet connection
  • A Windows program that runs the app in its own window
  • The web version of the app, ready to put on your own website or run on your computer
  • A short guide with installation steps and the licence

Not included

  • A hosted copy to sign in to: there are no accounts
  • Web hosting or a domain name
  • Installation service
  • The printed book or the ebook (they are sold separately)
  • Modern copyrighted translations such as NIV, ESV, NLT or NKJV
  • Updates are not promised. You get the current version

Limits and honest notes

Better you know before you buy. These come from using the app.

  • Two translations only. The King James Version and the World English Bible, both public domain.
  • The book quotes the ESV, and the app does not. The readings come from the book, but the app shows each passage in the King James Version or the World English Bible, so the wording of a verse can differ from the printed book.
  • Not every day has a prompt to discuss. Each day has Scripture and a teaching. Only some days add a prompt to talk about, try or pray together.
  • Your notes and highlights stay on one device. There is no account and no cloud sync between devices. You can export and import your data by hand.
  • The Windows program is not code-signed. Windows SmartScreen may show a warning you will need to accept. The app inside is the same as the web version.
  • Installing the Android app needs permission to install from a file. It is not installed from an app store.
  • The web version needs either a web host or Node.js. It cannot simply be opened by double-clicking its page, because the browser blocks it from loading the Bible text that way.
  • Read-aloud quality depends on your device's voices. Voices marked online are much clearer but need a connection.
  • Cross-references come from a public dataset. They are from OpenBible.info, used under a Creative Commons attribution licence, and show related passages rather than commentary.
  • A licence for personal or ministry use. You may host it, use it in your church and edit the readings for your own use. You may not resell, redistribute or republish the app or its text as your own.
  • English only.

Questions

Is this the book or an app?

It is an app, built from the book Undivided. The readings come from the book, with the whole Bible added so you can read the passages in full.

Do I need the internet?

No. The Android app and the Windows program work with no internet connection. The web version works offline once it has loaded.

Which Bible translations are included?

The King James Version and the World English Bible, both public domain. You can switch between them while you read.

What are the cross-references?

When you tap a verse, the app lists other verses that speak to the same thing, as tappable references that open the passage.

Can we use it together on one phone?

Yes. Many couples read from one phone or one computer. If you each want your own highlights and notes, install it on both devices, because nothing syncs between them.

Is there a subscription or an account?

No. You pay once and keep it. There is no account, and your highlights, notes and progress stay on your own device.

Can my church put it on its website?

Yes. The licence covers personal and ministry use, and the download includes the web version ready to upload to your own site.

Can I try it first?

Undivided is built from a paid book, so there is no free copy online. The screenshots on this page are from the real app. You can try the free Devotional Bible on this website to see how this style of app works.
