Newsletter Capture — Smart Popup & Lead Capture for WordPress

£29.00

A non-annoying signup popup that appears at the right moment — scroll depth, exit-intent, or time-on-page — and builds you a real email list, with its own lead database, CSV export, and optional ESP webhook.

Every visitor who leaves without subscribing is a lost sale, forever

Most newsletter popups fire the instant someone lands on the page, annoy them, and get closed without a second look. Newsletter Capture waits for the right moment instead — a scroll-depth threshold, exit-intent (with a time-based fallback for mobile, where exit-intent doesn’t work), or simple time-on-page — so it appears when a visitor is actually engaged, not the moment they arrive.

Newsletter Capture vs. the alternatives

Feature	Default WordPress	Typical popup plugins	Newsletter Capture
Smart trigger (scroll/exit-intent/time)	✗	Varies, often paid tier only	✓ all three, your choice
Mobile fallback for exit-intent	—	Rare	✓ time-based fallback
Own lead database + CSV export	✗	Often locked behind subscription	✓ included, no extra cost
Works without an email service provider	—	Usually requires one	✓ optional — leads are stored locally either way
Respects dismissals (won’t nag repeat visitors)	—	Varies	✓ localStorage-based, caching-safe
Ongoing cost	Free	Often monthly subscription	One-time payment

What’s inside

Choose your trigger: scroll-depth percentage, exit-intent (desktop) with a time-based fallback for mobile, or straightforward time-on-page
Own dedicated leads database — every signup is captured on your site regardless of whether you connect an email tool
Dismiss and signup state stored per-visitor in the browser, not a server cookie — built specifically to work correctly with full-page caching, so nobody gets re-shown the popup after closing it (default 14 days, adjustable)
Optional lead-magnet file delivery — attach a PDF/checklist from your Media Library that’s revealed automatically after signup
Optional HTTPS webhook to forward each new signup straight to your email service provider — clearly labelled, and off by default so nothing is sent anywhere unless you configure it
Spam protection built in (honeypot field + nonce checks), plus a CSV export button and an admin dashboard showing impressions, dismissals and signups

FAQ

Do I need Mailchimp or another email tool for this to work? No — every signup is saved in your own WordPress database regardless. The webhook to an external ESP is entirely optional.

Will it show the popup to someone who already signed up or closed it? No — both states are remembered per-visitor and respected automatically.

Does it work on mobile, where exit-intent doesn’t really exist? Yes — there’s a built-in time-based fallback trigger specifically for touch devices.

Can I get the email addresses out if I ever switch tools? Yes — one-click CSV export from the plugin’s dashboard, any time.

Honesty note: this is a single-site license for one WordPress installation. It’s a self-contained plugin with no ongoing subscription — future feature updates aren’t automatic, so if you’d like a newer version down the line, just get in touch. No email is ever sent to a third party unless you deliberately configure the optional webhook.
