How it works
- Open Languages and download the ones you need.
- Type or paste text, choose the languages, and tap Translate.
- Listen, copy, share or save the result.
Your data and privacy
Translation runs on your phone. The only time the app uses the internet is to download a language. Your text, history and saved phrases stay on the device.

Questions
Which languages are included?
Dozens of languages, including French, Spanish, German and Swahili. Some languages are not available, for example Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa and Nigerian Pidgin.
Do I need internet?
Only to download each language once. After that it works offline.
Why does translating between two non-English languages need English?
The engine translates through English, so the English language pack must be on the phone too.
How long can the text be?
Up to 5,000 characters at a time.
Is the Offline Translator free?
Yes. It is free. The Android app is coming to Google Play, and this page will link to it as soon as it is there.
Is my text kept private?
