Equalizer
A 10-band equaliser and music player for your own songs, with a live spectrum. It does its own sound processing, so the sliders really change the sound.

Who it is for
Anyone who wants to shape the sound of their own music: more bass for headphones, clearer vocals for speech, or a flatter sound for a small speaker.
What you can do
10 bands
Sliders from 32 Hz to 16 kHz with a live curve, a pre-amp, and presets you can save under your own names.
Tone and stereo
Bass and treble controls, stereo width, balance and a mono switch for one ear or a single speaker.
Limiter
A built-in limiter stops loud peaks from crackling when you boost several bands.
Plays your music
A music player and library for your own files, including MP3, AAC, FLAC, OGG and Opus. It keeps playing with the screen off and works with headset buttons.
System tab
An optional mode that applies the phone’s own equaliser to apps that announce their audio. It works with some apps; others, such as YouTube and Chrome in our tests, do not announce theirs and are not changed.
How it works
- Open Library and choose a song.
- Open Equaliser and drag the bands, or pick a preset.
- Use Effects for bass, treble and stereo, and save your own preset.
Your data and privacy
The Equalizer processes the music you choose on your phone. It has no internet permission, so your music and settings never leave the device.
Read our apps privacy policy.
Questions
Does it change the sound of YouTube and Spotify?
Only in System mode, and only for apps that announce their audio to Android. In our tests YouTube and Chrome did not, so use the built-in player for full control.
Is it accurate?
On our test phone the sliders measured within about a decibel of their setting.
Will boosting make it distort?
Big boosts add up, so lower the pre-amp or keep the limiter on.
Is there a web version?
Yes, a free online equaliser with 17 presets and a spectrum analyser.
