Each language is a one-off download of about 30 MB. After that it translates with no internet.

Detects the language you type, reads the translation aloud, and lets you copy, share or save it.

Keep your history and starred phrases on the phone, and back them up.
How it works
- Open Languages and download the ones you need.
- Type or paste text, choose the languages, and tap Translate.
- Listen, copy, share or save the result.
Your data and privacy
Translation runs on your phone. The only time the app uses the internet is to download a language. Your text, history and saved phrases stay on the device.

Questions
Which languages are included?
59 languages including French, Spanish, German and Swahili. Some languages are not available, for example Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa and Nigerian Pidgin.
Do I need internet?
Only to download each language once. After that it works offline.
Why does translating between two non-English languages need English?
The engine translates through English, so the English language pack must be on the phone too.
How long can the text be?
Up to 5,000 characters at a time.
