Volume Leveler
One steady volume. Loud adverts and sudden spikes come down, quiet speech comes up, and nothing leaves your phone.

Who it is for
Anyone who is tired of reaching for the volume button when an advert, a clip or a loud scene jumps out after a quiet one.
What you can do
Four strengths
Gentle, Medium, Strong and Night. Medium evens out most programmes without sounding squashed.
Works across apps
Made to level the sound from apps such as YouTube, Spotify and TikTok, not just one player.
Compare
One tap to switch the leveller off and on so you can hear the difference.
Live readout
A Right now panel shows what the leveller is doing while something plays.
How it works
- Turn the leveller on.
- Choose how strong you want it.
- Play something in any app and listen for the difference.
Your data and privacy
The leveller measures loudness as the sound plays and never records or stores any sound. It has no internet permission. Android lets an app change other apps’ volume only through a built-in gain effect, so the result is a close match to the web version rather than an exact one.

Questions
Does it record what I listen to?
No. It only measures loudness while sound plays and stores nothing.
Will it make quiet noise louder?
It lifts quiet speech but is designed not to boost silence into noise.
Does it work with every app?
It works with apps that play media through Android in the usual way. Results vary by app.
Does it affect phone calls, ringtones or alarms?
No. It is designed to level only music, video and games. Calls, ringtones, alarms, notifications and the voice assistant are left alone.
Does it work in a web browser on my phone?
Not reliably. Android does not let it change the volume of some browsers, such as Opera and other Chrome-based ones, in our tests. It works best with apps that play audio through Android’s normal media player.
Is there a web version?
Yes, for Chrome and Edge on a computer, working on a browser tab or a file you load.
